Lifest Music Festival information

The Trip There:
We will be leaving from The Oaks parking lot at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9th. There will be a group send-off at that time. We will pack the vehicles starting at 7:30 a.m. so please try to be at the Oaks no later than 7:25am Thursday.  We should arrive at the campsite at Lifest (Oshkosh, Wisconsin) around 3:00pm.  In order to save some time, we will be eating lunch at a rest area on the road to Wisconsin. Please bring a sack lunch with you. We will provide coolers if you need to keep anything cool.

The Trip Back:
We will begin packing at 6am on Sunday and we will be leaving Lifest around 7am. We will stop for a quick lunch on the way back and should arrive back at the Oaks Community Church around 2pm Sunday afternoon. If we are running significantly ahead or behind schedule we will let you know.

Packing:
With the number of people going on the trip, space will be at a premium. In order to make things more comfortable, there will be a luggage limit. Each person can bring one duffel bag (or similar-sized suitcase) to pack, their sleeping bag and bedding, and a “carry-on” bag that will ride with them. Be aware that your carry-on bag might have to ride on your lap during the trip.

What to Bring:
Remember that you are packing lightly, but also for the whole 4 days of Lifest. Think and plan ahead in order to pack what will be necessary for the trip. Modesty is also important in packing for the trip. Do not make us have that embarrassing conversation with you asking you to change. There is a packing list attached that will help you prepare for the trip.
This year we’re asking each person to bring a snack that they are willing to share with the rest of the group.

Cell Phones:
Cell phones are not prohibited on the trip, however, part of the value of this trip is the chance to separate from the “real world” for a while and connect with the rest of the group. If your cell phone usage becomes a distraction to you or the group, Chuck, or another volunteer, may ask you to put it away.

Meals:
All attendees should pack a sack lunch for the drive to Lifest on Thursday. We will stop and eat lunch at a rest stop on the way to the festival.
Meals will be provided at the festival every day at camp except for Saturday evening dinner. For this meal, all attendees are expected to bring extra spending money to purchase dinner from the wide variety of vendors at the Lifest music festival (expect to spend at least $10-15).
Sunday morning breakfast will be provided at camp before leaving.
On the drive back to the Oaks we will be stopping to eat for lunch and attendees are expected to have extra spending money in order to buy a quick lunch on the road. (expect to spend $5-8).
We will also provide many snacks and plenty of bottled water while at the festival.
